OPERA

(Office and Professional Employees Rapid Action)

OPERA is designed to encourage participation, acknowledge each and every member, and hopefully provide a little fun for all. For each "Action" a member participates in, points will be given. Members will accumulate points and be eligible for Awards.

Actions will take many different forms;the more Actions, the more points earned. Quarterly awards will handed out at each Membership meeting, and the Grand Prizes given out at the annual End of Year Party all Local 3 members who have earned 4 points or more will be presented with Awards. The person with the most points at the end of the years will receive the Grand Prize: an all expense paid weekend, on the Russian River, in the Redwoods, on the hill, in Monte Rio, California.

Knowing that we live in a very fast paced world and finding the time to participate is not always easy, the Executive Board designed a system that is flexible enough to allow participation by everyone. Activities include: attending membership meetings, serving on committees, attending solidarity events for other Unions, volunteer events and/or political action activities (phone banking, precinct walking, etc.)
